The SkiRail Map of the Alps, new for the 2011 season, is the first map to show how winter sports resorts across the Alps can be reached by train. With over 400 resorts shown, detailed information on the 120 with direct rail access, a booklet providing specific instructions on getting from the cities to resort stations and on to the pistes, and an additional map providing rail journey times from across Europe, the map packs a wealth of information for just £9 (10 Euros), with the local Chamonix-Montenvers train gracing the front cover.

Eco Rider ski school will be there to tell you about their "Bilan Carbone" (greenhouse gas emissions evaluation). Also about how their ski instructors uniforms are made from eco-friendly recycled textiles, their use of less polluting forms of transport and how their skis and boards are waxed with petrol-free materials (raw materials sourced in the Rhone Alpes region). They are determined to fight against global warming with a zero emission objective. They aim to:

Icicle is the first guiding company in Chamonix to hold either the 'Leave No Trace' or the 'UIAA Environment Label'. All their courses are designed along strict environmental guidelines, to maximise the use of public transport such as the train, and to teach all their clients how to minimise their impact in the mountains.
